Early days but a what a start to the new season for Pompey.. 3 games undefeated, 7 goals scored and none conceded.. While the Middlesboro game was being played I was asleep in a yurt in the middle of an Uzbek desert area, so no idea how things were going... When I saw a league table and realised we had won it was nice, when i saw the scoreline - 4-0 away from home - I was mildly surpised and very happy! Keep it up Pompey.
As for Wales, this week was a difficult one for me. I realised when I embarked on this trip I would end up missing a few Wales matches and on Saturday when Wales played against Czech Republic in Teplice I sat around in a guesthouse in Samarkand lost and bemused as to what to do.. I had a bit of a countback and realised that this was the first competitive away match for Wales I have missed since Albania away sometime in 1995. So it is strange not being there in Teplice. I feel I should have been there sharing the ups and downs with my usual bunch of Welsh friends as Wales managed to scrape yet another narrow defeat, it was strange not being there. The compensation is that at least I was enjoying my time in a city home to one of the most amazing historical buildings on this planet, it goes some way to healing the scars of missing out on a Wales trip.
